We've always heard that well-known proverb according which money cannot buy happiness. Ok. From a psychological point of view, that's completely correct. People should feel comfortable with themselves, seek for self-knowledge, find satisfaction in being alive and healthy, appreciate the sunlight and the perfume of the flowers.

But what about freedom?

As far as I'm concerned, money doesn't buy for criminals freedom from jail (well, sometimes it does, particularly here in Brazil), however each day more it turns absolutely necessary to assure all those everyday liberties, as do what you wish and go where you want.

It happens not only because the cost of life is higher, because is no longer enough to have money just to pay the bills or because of the increasing unemployment. Nowadays, in this capitalist society, it's all about financial resources.

Money can even not buy happiness, forgiveness or freedom, but it, undoubtedly, guarantees one of the most desirable liberties: the liberty of choice.
